Once upon a time, a software executive decided to start company. Not an app. Not a consulting firm. A seed company. Whaaattt? Makes no sense to anyone we know but makes perfect sense to us. There are three concepts that compelled us to launch the Mauro Seed Company.
First, we wanted to start a company with purpose. So we adapted the TOMS buy-one-give-one model to seed to be the only seed company with giving at its core. The more we grow, the more we give. Good is baked into the business model.
Ok, so most people can get that, but seed? Really? Yep. If you have bought groceries in the last 5 years, you know that the cost of food is redic. Plus, you don't really know what is in your food- GMO's, pesticides, poop; where it comes from; who has touched it and how long its been sitting on the truck. We want to help people grow their own food and know what they grow.

Finally, this industry is needs a shot in the arm. The other seed companies are all the same. Boring, lame and stingy. Now there is a new kid on the block. Mauro Seed sells the best seed - and helps others. The Mauro girls have own brand experience. While we are working to bring down Big Seed, we are making growing food fun again. Our promise is to liven up this industry and have some fun together.
